When you will improving your house then you need to take the help of Scrooge McDuck. These will be the first NPCs you will meet in the game. You can complete his quests to easily upgrade your house.
He will give you a quest named Valley Economics 101 after you will help to open a shop. This is one of the simple quests that required selling only seven items to Goofy at the stall.
After completing the quest you will go back to Scrooge McDuck and he will tell you about the elevator installed by him in your house and grant you permission to upgrade the interior.
You can check out the elevator near your main door and expand your house. You need to spend 1,000 coins for the first main room expansion, 2,000 coins for the second room expansion, 3000 coins for 10×10, 2000 coins for 8×8, and 1000 coins for 6×6 for additional rooms.
When you will completed the internal upgrade then Scrooge will put a builder sign outside of your house when you will return next time. This will help you o improve the exterior of the house and increase the storage capacity of each chest you build.
You will be able to build as many chests as you want but the chest will have a single row of storage in the beginning.
